Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Advanced Gastroenterologist, you will be a pivotal member of our advanced endoscopy team, providing specialized diagnostic and therapeutic interventions that significantly enhance patient outcomes. This role offers the unique opportunity to apply a broad range of highly specialized skills within a dynamic clinical environment, contributing directly to complex GI care.
Each shift you will perform a comprehensive suite of advanced endoscopic procedures, including both Diagnostic and Therapeutic ERCP, such as lithotripsy, papillectomy, sphincterotomy, and stone removal. You will also utilize ERCP with Spyglass cholangioscopy for more intricate cases. In addition, you will conduct cutting-edge Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) procedures, including fine needle aspiration (FNA)/fine needle biopsy (FNB), pseudocyst drainage, stent placements, and gallbladder drainage, addressing critical patient needs with precision.
To be successful in this highly specialized role, you will be a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist, holding core gastroenterology privileges. For ERCP, you must have successfully completed an ACGME or AOA accredited program that included a minimum of 200 ERCP procedures, with documented performance of at least 25 ERCP procedures (including 10 sphincterotomies and 5 stent placements) in the past 12 months. For EUS, you will have completed an accredited program with a minimum of 225 EUS procedures, and documented performance of at least 25 EUS procedures in the past 12 months, demonstrating current competence and extensive clinical experience.
- Delivers High-Quality Patient Care and Documentation: Physicians provide superior ambulatory care, conducting examinations, services, and maintaining meticulous medical records in accordance with all policies, including those for managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Adheres to Regulatory and Ethical Standards: Physicians strictly comply with all federal and state reimbursement plans, the ethical and religious directives of sponsoring entities, and the Hospital's comprehensive policies, procedures, and medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.
- Engages in Quality Improvement and Peer Review: Physicians actively participate in clinical and quality improvement initiatives, contribute to physician peer review, utilization review, and serve on medical staff committees as assigned to enhance overall service delivery.
- Contributes to Operational Excellence and Professional Growth: Physicians advise on operational matters, including personnel, business oversight, and equipment evaluation, while maintaining professional competence through continuous medical education and board certification, staying abreast of the latest medical developments.
We are offering a $800,000 base salary plus incentive plan, $30,000 student loan repayment, a sign-on bonus, $15,000 relocation assistance, CME funds, flexible time away, and a generous 401(k) with matching contributions.
