About EoE

Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic, immune-mediated inflammatory disease that is triggered by food or environmental allergies basis and it causes significant, painful swallowing difficulties, heartburn, and food impaction that often requires long-term treatment.

The incidence and prevalence of EoE are growing at rates that outpace increased disease recognition – and EoE patients have historically had to wait up to 10 years for an accurate diagnosis, causing them and their families to suffer physically, mentally, socially, and financially.

Affected health care settings include gastroenterology clinics, endoscopy suites, hospital emergency rooms, primary care clinics, pediatric clinics and allergist offices.

About the ASGE EoE Train the Trainer Program

The ASGE EoE Train the Trainer Program is a comprehensive training program that was designed by leading EoE experts to create a network of regional clinician-educators in the US who are dedicated to improve the diagnosis, management and overall care of patients with EoE.

The application deadline for the ASGE EoE Train the Trainer Program for 2026 was June 1. ASGE may train another group of health care professionals in 2027 – so applicable health care professionals are encouraged to visit this web page for updates from time to time.
